What to do before your tan:

The day before you spray tan, you should exfoliate your body with a sugar-free exfoliating scrub. This process is crucial in prolonging your tan. If you shave or wax, this should also be done the day before. It is important to not wear deodorants, make up, lotions, creams or gels on your skin on the day of your spray tan, as these can act as a barrier to the tanning solution. Your body needs to be cool before the tanning process, so no hot showers immediately before the tan.

What do you wear for your tan:

You can wear as much or as little as you like. For men I suggest wearing dark colored boxer shorts or briefs. For women, I suggest wearing a dark bikini or dark bra and underwear. However, you are welcome to have your tan topless or nude as many people do so you won't have any tan lines.

How does the tanning process work:

Your body is sprayed with a solution that contains a base of water, aloe and DHA (DiHydroxyAcetone), which comes from sugar beets. The DHA reacts with the Amino acids in the dead layers of your skin and over a period of a few hours turns brown. The B. Bronz product will dry in 1-2 minutes so no need to use a fan or wait more than 5 minutes to get dressed.

What kind of training have you had:

I was trained and certified by Kelly Richardson owner of B.Bronz Tanning Products. Kelly is an international celebrity spray tanner based out of Santa Rosa, California. Her line of sunless tanning products have been recognized by a number of publications such Pulse and Allure. Additionally B. Bronz was the first sunless tanning company to work exclusively with one of fashions most sought after events known as the New York Fashion Week.

How long will the spray tan last:

Your body constantly releases dead skin cells. Spray tanning only affects the outer layer of skin, so again, as your skin cells naturally shed, the spray tan will fade. Your spray tan should last approximately 5-10 days, but longer if you moisturize every day with a hydrating lotilotion. However, we cannot offer a guarantee that it will last 5-10 days as everyone's skin type is different.

What is the age limit of tanning:

A signature of a parent or guardian for those under the age of 18 is required. Also, for those under the age of 18, it is required that they are clothed in either swim trunks for males or bikinis for females (or equivalent clothing).

How much room does the tanning technician need:

A portable spray tan tent will be set up in your home, which is big enough for you to enter and be sprayed. This portable tent will catch any over spray that may occur, so there will be no need to cover furniture or set up outdoors. There will be a faint smell of coconut and that is all.

Will tanning process turn my skin orange:

Absolutely not! Orangeness is the result of tanning pills, tanning beds mixed with spray tanning and older tanning agents. A professional spray tan with modern tanning agents avoids this, and streakiness is caused by improper application of home tanning creams and sprays, which is why you should always let a professional apply your spray tan.

Steps to take after the tanning process:

• Wear loose dark colored clothing after you spray tan and to bed the first night. Do not sleep on silk sheets as there is a chance of staining them.
• Do not shower/bathe/swim or get wet for at least 10 - 12 hours so the DHA has time to fully develop, without causing streaks.
• When you do shower after your spray tan, you may notice some brown staining in the water. Do not panic! Your tan is not washing off!!! This is just the dye washing off revealing your tanned skin underneath.
• Avoid soaking in the bath as this encourages the sloughing off of dead skin cells which will increase the fading of your spray tan.
• Avoid swimming pools as chlorine will increase the fading of the spray tan.
• Moisturize every day (preferably twice) with a hydrating lotion in order to keep your skin and tan in tip top condition.
